I FEEL LIKE THIS HAS been the longest week. I haven’t seen Cooper since I left his place the night I met his mom, but we have talked every day. I’ll admit I miss him. I am so excited it is finally Saturday. He didn’t tell me what we were doing, just that he would pick me up at nine. I’ve been dressed and ready to go for an hour, that’s how damn excited I am to finally see him. I’ve got on a strapless black sundress with my black-and-white cowboy boots. I have my hair half-up with a braid wrapping it like a crown. My makeup is minimal, just some mascara, blush, and lip gloss. I am standing in my kitchen drinking my coffee. I am looking at my cabinets thinking how nice it would be to redo them, when there is a knock on my door. I’m a little nervous because this is the first time he is going to see my apartment. I put my cup in the sink and open the door. The air is sucked out of my lungs when I see him. He’s got on a black button-down, short-sleeved shirt which makes his amazing tattoos pop. He has on those worn-in jeans that I love, and his hair is the perfect mess. His warm brown eyes meet mine and his sexy ass grin takes over his face. He hands me a bouquet of wild flowers and it makes my heart ache. “Thank you, Cooper. They are my absolute favorite; they are beautiful.” He kisses me and runs his fingers down my cheek.
